The RTU-01 is a stand-alone remote telemetry unit with LTE/4G cellular connection and various inputs and outputs that suits most television and radio transmission sites.
While the RTU-01 may appear to be a simple device, it is packed with features!
Local controls
The RTU-01 can be controlled locally by maintenance staff while on-site. By placing the unit into 'local' mode this will prevent remote operation for safety of the on-site workers. Simple front panel button presses provide access to view all inputs and outputs, and manually operate relay outputs.
Simple to install
Analog inputs, digital inputs, and relay outputs are available via three 20way IDC connectors on the rear of the unit. Each RTU-01 is supplied with 3 ribbon cables with an IDC connector on one end with each 2 meters long. These can be terminated on Krone style blocks if desired. Also note, the system operating voltage (12.0-13.8Vdc) is available on two pairs of wires in each ribbon cable (Internally fused maximum 1A).
Power & battery backup
The RTU-01 is powered by a 19V 3A power supply and has a built-in SLA battery charger. The included 12V 7Ah SLA battery will provide hours of monitoring when the mains fails (we recommend the battery is replaced each 2 years as part of your maintenance program)
Two powerful hearts
The RTU-01 contains a true 32bit CPU with integrated flash memory and RAM. This CPU is dedicated to performing all the input measurements and output control. Measurement data is sent to the main heart (a full embedded linux multi-core computer) that performs the more challenging tasks such as VPN and cellular connection, bi-directional data messaging and control signals to and from the cloud server.
Your own cloud
When you sign up for our platform, you get your own dedicated cloud server. Your server is not shared with anyone else and it will only ever have your equipment connected to it. Each cloud server can handle multiple RTU-01's and each cloud server will have it's own sub-domain name <yourname>.transmittersite.com
